CHILDREN'S MUSEUM OF SOUTH DAKOTA

Architecture Incorporated was involved in the conceptualization and design of the Children’s Museum of South Dakota in Brookings. Located in the former Central Elementary School, the museum houses several interactive exhibits including agricultural and prairie-oriented displays, a Mini Explorers area for young children, a “Helping House” exhibit showing how homes are built around the world in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity, and nature oriented outdoor exhibits. A Kids Street runs through the museum that includes topics like fitness, car care, water play, grocery, post office, wind tunnel, kids café, and a television studio with green screen. The museum also offers an array of facilities to the public including spaces to rent for receptions or conferences, a café for public use, and student field trip options.

Working with all of you has been such a pleasure, and all of us are so pleased with the results. Knowing that I could count on your company's expertise was a great reassurance.

Suzanne Hegg, Former Executive Director, Children's Museum of South Dakota
