Kate Ishol

Architectural Associate

Before pursuing a career in architecture, Kate Ishol, Assoc. AIA earned bachelor’s degrees in English Literature and French. After working in both fields, she returned to South Dakota State University to earn her Master of Architecture and joined Architecture Incorporated in 2023.

Kate sees design as a balance of creativity and logic, providing the freedom to explore ideas while responding to the needs and constraints of each project. She enjoys transforming complex and challenging problems into thoughtful solutions and seeing how good design can positively shape the way people interact with the world around them.

At Architecture Incorporated, Kate is primarily responsible for assisting with the architectural design on all assigned projects and contributing as a member of the project team. Her role includes collaborating with engineering consultants to complete construction documents, managing bidding and negotiations, overseeing contract administration, and handling project closeout. She also supports the creation and development of 3D-rendered models for the firm’s projects.

Kate is currently in the process of completing her architectural registration exams and is accruing required hours to become a fully licensed architect.
